Pay it Forward!!!

I love this idea that I heard about from the totally AMAZING Sadie Lou Who of Craftily Ever After!
Here's how it works......I have agreed to make a little handmade item for three people who agree to do the same thing on their blog to "Pay it Forward". The first three comments to this post who agree to do this will continue the chain of giving....
1. You comment on this post
2. You receive a handmade gift from me!
3. You post this message on your blog and offer a handmade gift to the first three who comment.
4. Thus, the cycle continues and everyone has fun and beautiful crafts to display in their home!

I LOVE this Idea, thank you Sadie!!!!!......just email me your addresses and then "Pay it Forward" on your blog!!!

Brrr....

The whole gang!

The "Ghost" Cake

And their off...

When my niece and nephews got back from their round of trick or treating, kids were still coming to our house for candy...and each time a batch of trick or treaters approached, the kids ran to the door to watch them grab from the candy bowl..too cute!!!

It is getting so cold here! I can't believe it reached freezing here last night! Matthew was out early this morning scraping frosty icy car windows!!! Isn't that always the way it happens...one day your in a cute hoodie and the next your wrapped up in a winter coat. Anyhow, our trick or treat party turned out great yesterday, the kids really enjoyed themselves! Sometimes I forget that Halloween is about the kids because I love it so much too! And I heard from Sandy, the owner of the Halvorson's Holiday Craft Show in Rocky River and seems that we did pretty good! Now, my head is spinning because the rush is on to get ready for our Carrollton HS show this weekend, I am so excited!!!! I get to see my old friends and I always find AMAZING treasures there too! I hope that it all turns out well..Here's to another Fun Crafty Week!!!

Fun Trick or Treat Weekend!

SPooKy! SCaReY! FREeKISh!
HAPpy HaLloWeEn!!!

Pink "Queen of the Nest" Ornament on Etsy! New!

Tomorrow is our Trick or Treat party! I am having my parents and my brother and sister in law over...and their 4 kids! It is always a fun time...I am really looking forward to it! Today I got my table ready and made up some Halloween treat bags full of goodies for each of the kids. Matthew plans on making a ghost cake...it should be "spooky" to say the least..LOL!~I will take pictures for sure!
This weekend also is the Halvorson's Holiday Boutique! This is our first year participating and I gotta tell you..I am loving it! This is a whole new type of show for us, Sandy, the owner of the show, takes your crafts, displays them, and sells them! All I had to do was inventory and price our entries according to the rules of the show. We paid a small entry fee and she takes 10%. I love it! Especially during busy craft show season...a whole weekend at home to ourselves and I am still participating in a craft show, wild! Because this was our first year we sent only a sampling of our crafts: my mom sent her felted knit flower pins and I sent my soldered collage pins and necklaces as well as some of my shadowbox collages. I also had a few Halloween wands to throw in! I can't wait to see how it all turns out! If any of you have ever participated in a show like this, I would love to hear about your experience.
Also, I did make some more "Queen of the Nest" collages and ornaments yesterday! I just got around to listing them on etsy...

Well I'm off to watch more scarey movies with Matthew( I am going to HAVE to sleep with the lights on for a month after this!)

Have a Happy Halloween Weekend!

Craft Shows Galore!

I can't believe it, but when I got the mail today I received another acceptance letter from a another craft show! I just sent this one in on a whim, I really expected to be much too late to get into the show, I feel so lucky! This one is at a local high school, Jackson High School in Canton, Ohio. I have heard it is a really good show and it is also my sister-in-law's high school Alma mater! It should be fun...wow...I really need to get crafting!!!!
Also this Friday is my husband Matthew and my 5 year Wedding Anniversary~ I am really looking forward to surprising him with some fun little things!!! I really wanted to go see The Darjeeling Limited, the new Wes Andersen movie, for our "big night out" but I am almost positive it won't play close to home for a few weeks yet. Don't ya hate that??? We are huge fans of Wes Andersen movies, the Royal Tenenbaums, The Life Aquatic~ all must sees! Maybe we will head up to Cleveland to see it, I hear it is playing at the Cedar Lee Theatre. Anyways, if anyone see it that lives in "select cities" let me know what you think...
This weekend I spent some time planning out my ornament swaps, I was very lucky to get Colleen of Frosting and Sparkles as my swap partner in the Deck the Halls ornament swap! I am really looking forward to getting some new ornaments...especially handmade ones! Colleen's creations are so yummy and cute! I can't wait to see what she sends me!
Also, since I am becoming quite addicted to flickr, I have joined the "Pink Christmas" group on flickr..it is AMAZING, and a complete necessity if you are into PINK and CHRISTMAS...two of my favorite things in life! Anyhow I joined a swap through the Pink Christmas group in which you are put in a pool of 5, so you send and receive 4 pink Christmas ornaments! How fun is that???? So I am really excited about all this swapping! It is always fun to get packages full of pretty, glittery, handmade things in the mail after a long hard day at work! So much crafting fun...so little time...
Also I decided to test the waters on etsy and list some of my latest bird collage creations, which I have named "Queen of the nest" collages...they just look so regal with those glitter crowns! You can check them out at:

New on Etsy

I finally did it! I finally got around to listing some new things in my etsy shop! For those of you who emailed...there are 3 sets of tags available and a few new ornaments too! Also I have listed one of the new bird collages! Thank You for all of your sweet comments and for looking...

Birds of a Feather...

Look! They've decorated their nests with "FLY" garlands!

Those crafty little birds!
Two by Two...
These are my fun new Obsession..birds!!!!

These Bird Shrines are so colorful and sparkly!!!
All the Little Birdies in a Row...

I had so much fun making these yesterday! Each one is so colorful and sparkly! I have had these candlesticks sitting in my "find something to do with these" pile forever! When I saw these little birds, I just pictured them perched upon these colorful candlesticks. They look happy there I think! Happy Crafting!

Trick or Treat is Next Weekend!

My Favorite Halloween candy Dish! I have started collecting them it seems, because now I have one with a talking light-up crow and one with a severed head on a platter that growls...this one doesn't have any of those tricks~I just love the dangling pumpkins and the vibrant colors!!

After much debate, I finally painted my shelf "buttermilk biscuit" cream. I just love the way it makes my favorite collections pop! Before it was a primitive dark yellow...I am happy with the change!

These guys were an early 5 year Wedding Anniversary gift from my husband, I Absolutely love them!!

I can't believe how busy it has been around here, getting ready for all these craft shows and of course, Halloween! Also, this Friday is our 5th wedding Anniversary! And I have been busy making surprises happen for Matthew!
As if that weren't enough, we have decided to update our craft booth display for these upcoming shows and so last weekend my mom and I went down to the flea market and scoured each booth for some new nifty display pieces. We ended up getting this AMAZING blue table. It is that aqua~ish blue and the paint is kinda chipped~ so great! And a steal for only $35! Also, I joined a new group on flickr called "Arts and Crafts Fairs and Shows" and it has been really helpful! It gave me some great inspiration!!!! I will make sure to take pictures to show you our updated display!!!
Yesterday I spent the entire day crafting! It was so much fun! I made so many little things...birds mostly! I found these cute little birds at Michaels and could see them all glittered and crowned! I had to take them home! Also I have made a bunch of Christmas stuff..tags, ornaments, cones...pictures will be posted soon...also I plan on adding some of my newest creations on etsy!
I seem to be a bit Holiday- Schizophrenic these days..I love Halloween, see Halloween everywhere..but the theme from the Charlie Brown Christmas is quietly repeating in my head!I just love that sad little song! I am really looking forward to the holidays this year...I am looking forward to a Pink Christmas and snow...dare I admit it????

Fall is Finally HERE!

Tags made by Kris Hurst of Blissful Elements

I am so loving this weather! It has been rainy and cold here since Wednesday~perfect! I was really looking forward to going to The Algonquin Mill festival this weekend with Matthew but yesterday the craziest thing happened! I hopped in my van to back it out of the garage so that I could get our giant trash can out(wow, this is not a very glamorous post!) Anyhow, after dragging the trash down, I hopped back in the van and realized that only half of my key was on the key ring!!!! The other half was stuck down in the ignition-thing! The strangest part is~ If I stuck the tiny piece of the key that was still attached to my key ring in the ignition, I could still get it to start~weird! The silver lining was that I did get to spend a few hours crafting while I waited for my mechanic to call me back, and that was fun!
Well, long story even longer, I am still without my beloved van~possibly till Monday! Therefore I doubt I will be going much of anywhere this weekend. Maybe this will force me to give the house a proper cleaning...or I could just sit and make pretty little things with paper and glitter!!! At any rate, I am going to decorate the outside of the house for Halloween and that is really something to look forward to! I will post the pics of my newest creations this weekend and hopefully get around to putting them on etsy! In the mean time, enjoy these beautiful tags made by Kris of Blissfull Elements, they are so neat! I just think she is amazing! Have a great FALL Weekend Everyone!

Yesterday was the Dover craft show, we met a lot of really neat people, but it just wasn't our crowd. We didn't do very well and ended up packing it in early. I think I am going to have to seek out new places to do shows. I have been looking at some of the Alternative Craft Shows like Handmade Arcade in Pittsburgh and one called the Bazaar Bizarre in Cleveland~a friend told me about.
Anyhoo, I am going to go to some of these this year and see if it something that would be good for us. At any rate, I do love doing the shows! It is alot of fun setting up all of your crafty creations in a booth, seeing it come to life. I think it takes me back to when I used to play "store" with my friend Kelly in my bedroom when I was growing up. I used to put all the neat little things from my bedroom on my bed and mark them with prices-and we would take a basket from the living room and she would come in and act like a customer and I would check her out with a little calculator I had and everything! Wow- that was so fun! I think that is why I like craft shows-it's like having a store for a day or two. That is also why I like etsy so much. I love to look at other crafter's online stores and etsy shops. So many beautiful handmade things all in one place! I am really excited that I started one, but I always want to do craft shows too- I love the people! Yesterday I met two of the sweetest women from The Village Gift Shoppe in Gnadhutten, Ohio. So sweet and I got the most amazing pumpkinhead doll at their booth! It is from artist Joyce Stahl, I have been a fan of her work from pfatt marketplace! And what was even more neat, was that she was there delivering the dolls and I got to meet her! She is so sweet!
Also I met up with an old craft show circuit friend, Laurie, who also makes the most whimsical, fabulous dolls! Her booth was to die for! I picked up this cute little pumpkinhead party girl! I can't wait to see Laurie at the Carrollton HS show! So, as you can see I got some amazing finds! I spent way over what little money I made yesterday-but I am a happy crafter, I got 2 new beautiful dolls and a few new friends, I guess it wasn't that much of a bust after all.
