We went and saw the new Sweeney Todd movie over the long holiday weekend. It is amazing! I highly recommend it! When "Mister T" and Mrs. Lovett go on a vacation to the sea is one of my favorite scenes! Over all, if you don't mind a little gore and ALOT of blood~ coupled with singing, great costumes, beautiful scenery and AMAZING acting~ you'll love it too!

Pink Christmas Swap

This is what I sent~ pink polka dot cones filled with candy canes and pink glittered pine cones!
Each one has a snowflake and a banner on the front that reads "Merry Pinkmas"

This ADORable Pink wreath and hand sewn tag were accompanied by a beautiful and YUMMY pink heart cookie-made from the best gingerbread I have ever tasted..seriously, she should enter a contest or something..anyhow~ the cookie was gone before I took the pic, LOL! Thanks Gigi!
www.caligirlconfections.blogspot.com

This SWeet little ornament was sent to me by Jennifer of
www.sweeteyecandycreations.typepad.com
Jennifer has been a huge InspIraTion to me, I love her blog and have been reading it for a long time, I was so psyched to have her as a partner~ I just love this little guy!

Last but not least,I received these super-shabby ornies from Carrie of www.midwestfibres.blogspot.com
I saw these being made one time on a DIY network craft show and I always thought these would be a neat thing to do with pretty cards~and they are! Thank you!

This ornament swap was hosted by Michelle, a member of The Pink Christmas group on Flickr. This was a really neat swap, each person made four other ornaments to send to four people~ all with a pink Christmas theme! I am still waiting on one more ornament...aren't all of these beautiful???

Merry Pinkmas!

Deck the Halls Swap

The Deck the Halls Swap was hosted by Monica of www.monicaanderson.blogspot.com
and I was so lucky to get Colleen of www.frostingsandsparkles.blogspot.com as my partner! She sent me a box FULL of neat things~ handmade and sweet as can be! I will use her gifts while decking the halls around here, every year~ Thank You!

Look how cute everything was wrapped!

This "Joy" banner is now hanging from one of my favorite shelves in the living room. So sparkly and fun!

I couldn't believe this! This snowman is covered in mica flakes and holds a little silver glitter banner that says "wish"~ This guy is now sitting on top of my green cabinet in the dining room.

Aren't these precious? I just want to take a bite! They are now hanging on my Christmas tree~Mmmm...

And last but not least..these were AMAzing!
Thank You so much Colleen!

She also sent me a box of silver star ornaments and some beautiful tinsel~ she really spoiled me! I really lucked out having her as my partner!

Happy Holidays!

Be of Good Cheer

It seems this month has just whizzed by~ and I don't even have my Christmas shopping done! This is SO unlike me! I have been very busy with work, since Dec 1st, there hasn't been one day that I don't have at least 3 presentations to make! That is crazy~and unfortunately my Christmas spirit has suffered.
And I am willing to admit: I didn't make ONE Christmas cookie this year! What is happening??? Also, I haven't even been able to craft~ my craft room is filled with bags of gifts that need wrapped! Thank goodness we have the long weekend before Christmas, I'll have a couple days to work on things and then I'll be able to see the top of my crafting table again...and maybe, just maybe I'll find a little time to glitter something up~ oh that sounds so good! I see the sparkly glitter at the end of the tunnel!

I Heart Hello Kitty!

I took my niece out yesterday, we had such a fun time! In the afternoon I took her to Target to look for some Hello Kitty stuff and the dollar section had some really cute HK stuff for Christmas! Needless to say she had to have one~or 2~ of everything! A girl after my own heart!

Santa Claus is Comin' to town!

Here is my village! It is so pretty~all lit up! I was so lucky to find one of those animated skating rinks for it at Kohls a couple years ago. I just love it, it has 6 skaters and even has a setting to play Christmas music!

Here is one of favorite ornaments! Guess who???

Santa's all lined up in a row!

This little snow lady was all hand~made!~I got her at a craft show, she is so beautiful!~Even her face is hand painted!!

More Santa's! I love mixing the vintage Santa's in with the primitive, it looks so neat~

This is my ABSOLUTE favorite! I picked him up at a local craft show a couple years ago~ he is magical!

Deck the Halls

~That is Stanley, one of our cute kitties curled up under the tree!
I got this tree a couple years ago, it os one of those twig trees! I still really love it!~

This is one of my favorite ebay purchases of all time!!! I love Cody Foster and I couldn't wait to get one of his putz villages, it is so pink and pretty!

This is one of my favorite little "scenes", I added some pink bottlebrush ornaments from Martha Stewart's Christmas line from K-Mart to my favorite basket. I just love her stuff this year!
This santa is so adorable, we fot him at a flea market near Dayton when we went to the Country Living Fair. I just had to have him! What an adorable face!

When unwrapping all of my decorations this year, I realized I had accidentally strated to collect snowmen it seems! So I thought I would group them all together for more of a "snowy" effect! I like looking at all of these and remembering where I got them!

Snowmen, Snowmen, and more Snowmen!

Over the long weekend we spent some time decorating, one of my favorite parts of the holiday season!!! We put up the tree on Thanksgiving night, which has become a tradition around here. I did some other decorating one Saturday and Sunday. I am really pleased with all of my little holiday vignettes so far and can't wait to finish my favorite green cabinet in the dining room. I think I am going to have to take a visit to a couple antique stores to really finish it off right!!!

Jackson High School Show

Last weekend was the Jackson High School Show, turned out to be a very small show after all. I could hardly believe it, there were only like thirty crafters! I was really surprised at how poorly attended the show was!It was steadily slow which if you have ever done the craft show circuit you know~means poor sales. If there is no hustling and bustling, then people just don't seem to buy as much. Needless to say the highlight of the day was when my brother and sister-in-law brought their kids to visit us!

Christmas Crafts

I was so lucky to have the day off today, I sat in my craft room and crafted my heart out while listening to Christmas music and watching the snow fall!!! My Perfect Day!
I worked really hard and got alot accomplished~ I made 10 Christmas wands and listed them on etsy and I made all of my ornaments for the Flickr Pink Christmas Swap and the Deck the Halls Swap~And~ I made my two remaining "Pay it Forward" gifts~ Look for mail swap partners and Pay-it-Forwardees!!! Don't you just love this time of year???
I will post pics of swaps after my partners receive them- I don't want to ruin the surprise!!!
Have a great weekend!

It's beginning to look...

... a lot like Christmas! Here in NE Ohio it is snowing! I am so excited...and to think that most of our leaves are still on the trees~weird. I have been in a not-so-crafty mood lately. In fact, over the weekend I spent some time just watching movies and relaxing on the couch~not like me at all~ especially this time of year. But now I am getting that crafty itch again and my head is swarming with ideas! I have gathered some supplies and plan on crafting all day tomorrow!!! Saturday is our last craft show of the season at Jackson High School, and both my mom and I are kind of questioning the turn-out because as everyone in OHIO knows~Saturday is the BIG OSU v. Michigan game- and it is almost a law here that you have to watch it. I hope that the wives of all those wing-eating jersey- wearing-husbands come out with their check books! LOL!
This has been one heck of a season- craft show season I mean...I am glad to see it come to an end for this year, I am really looking forward to the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, decorating the house, and baking cookies with my mom. I just love this time of year!
This beautiful photo is from Room Service Home, an AMAZING website/catalog with lots of glittered goodies for Christmas and great stuff you'll want for your home!!! Check it out!

Saturday was the Carrollton High School Craft Show, we had so much fun! It was so nice to see Crafting Friends that I haven't seen in way too long! The show had great attendance and we had a great time at our booth! My mom and I cracked up laughing I don't know how many times, the stress of setting up was behind us and we were ready to have some fun! I was so happy to see Cindy of Olde Garge, an AMAZING crafter and Fabulous creative mind had a booth again this year, her painting and collages are truly inspirational! She has such unique and creative ideas, she is a real artist. I just had to have this "junk wreath" made with finds from things she has collected..nothing store bought! I just love that!
Well, another show has passed this Craft Show Season..and I am ready for a weekend of being a craft show attendee rather than a boothee...I hope to travel to Pittsburgh next weekend with Matthew to go to the Handmade Arcade! I am really looking forward to it!

One more show, Saturday November 17, 2007 at Jackson High School, Canton, Ohio. I hope to see you there!

The Blissful Unveiling and Fench Inspired Noel

A lovely invitation to the unveiling of The Blissful.

I have written about The Blissful Home, one of my favorite places in my home town of Canton, Ohio before, but recently, proprietor, Abby Kerr, has really out done herself and put a new spin on her lovely shop and this weekend was the great unveiling. Not only is the shop filled with lots of new items but it also has a new name: The Blissful.
This store is so beautiful! It is filled with "french inspired finds and furnishings" that make my imagination run wild! There is a variety of wonderful little pretty things to sit on a shelves or great pieces that would define a room. Also she has started carrying to-die-for beauty and bath items, and don't forget to check out her one-of-a-kind jewelry! Abby also has chosen some really neat holiday items from Wendy Addison, Bethany Lowe, and a host of other artists that design unique holiday items for that person who is looking for something really special. I hope that you will stop by her store if you are ever in Canton, it is truly a "blissful" place.

Brrr....

The whole gang!

The "Ghost" Cake

And their off...

When my niece and nephews got back from their round of trick or treating, kids were still coming to our house for candy...and each time a batch of trick or treaters approached, the kids ran to the door to watch them grab from the candy bowl..too cute!!!

It is getting so cold here! I can't believe it reached freezing here last night! Matthew was out early this morning scraping frosty icy car windows!!! Isn't that always the way it happens...one day your in a cute hoodie and the next your wrapped up in a winter coat. Anyhow, our trick or treat party turned out great yesterday, the kids really enjoyed themselves! Sometimes I forget that Halloween is about the kids because I love it so much too! And I heard from Sandy, the owner of the Halvorson's Holiday Craft Show in Rocky River and seems that we did pretty good! Now, my head is spinning because the rush is on to get ready for our Carrollton HS show this weekend, I am so excited!!!! I get to see my old friends and I always find AMAZING treasures there too! I hope that it all turns out well..Here's to another Fun Crafty Week!!!

Fun Trick or Treat Weekend!

SPooKy! SCaReY! FREeKISh!
HAPpy HaLloWeEn!!!

Pink "Queen of the Nest" Ornament on Etsy! New!

Tomorrow is our Trick or Treat party! I am having my parents and my brother and sister in law over...and their 4 kids! It is always a fun time...I am really looking forward to it! Today I got my table ready and made up some Halloween treat bags full of goodies for each of the kids. Matthew plans on making a ghost cake...it should be "spooky" to say the least..LOL!~I will take pictures for sure!
This weekend also is the Halvorson's Holiday Boutique! This is our first year participating and I gotta tell you..I am loving it! This is a whole new type of show for us, Sandy, the owner of the show, takes your crafts, displays them, and sells them! All I had to do was inventory and price our entries according to the rules of the show. We paid a small entry fee and she takes 10%. I love it! Especially during busy craft show season...a whole weekend at home to ourselves and I am still participating in a craft show, wild! Because this was our first year we sent only a sampling of our crafts: my mom sent her felted knit flower pins and I sent my soldered collage pins and necklaces as well as some of my shadowbox collages. I also had a few Halloween wands to throw in! I can't wait to see how it all turns out! If any of you have ever participated in a show like this, I would love to hear about your experience.
Also, I did make some more "Queen of the Nest" collages and ornaments yesterday! I just got around to listing them on etsy...
www.sleepyhollowcraft.etsy.com

Well I'm off to watch more scarey movies with Matthew( I am going to HAVE to sleep with the lights on for a month after this!)

Have a Happy Halloween Weekend!
